Views from & of 508 Queen St
Map Ref:G4
Auckland City from the 10th floor (& good side) of 508 Queen St - looking North - you can see Queen St on the right under the balcony - you can now jump off the Sky Tower which at 326 m claims to be the tallest structure in the Southern hemisphere. I haven't been asked for an opinion but I think Brixton looks taller.
Looking North West - with Auckland bridge (F2) across Waitemata Harboue under the crane in the center
Looking west, on the left my nearest place of worship, the Baptist Tabernacle
Same again (for some unknown reason) showing a flash of their pretentious facade
Looking south across K Rd traffic lights to Upper Queen St as it dips before climbing some more. On the corner of K & Queen is the building soon to be knocked down to the wrath of K Rd in general to be made into a modern block & parking lot for the Bapt Tab
Another north picture showing the Sky Tower & detail of the balconies in the block
My flat showing detail of the Software Studio. Oh, and the Lounge and bedroom. And the diningroom & kitchen. And bathroom & front door. The balcony is obscured by the photographer
Now do you believe me?
My tidy kitchen - soon after I moved in - and before I washed the tea towel (& and most of my shirts) with the red ochre sheets
A view of the back of the Sheraton - and the red ochre sheets before washing.
A view of 508 from the front looking down Queen St to the north
Karangahape Rd
Map Ref F4&G4
Looking east down K Rd towards Grafton Bridge. The Rock Shop supplies musical instruments, not boerewors, biltong & bibles.
Looking west in K Rd by now that the Christians have knocked down the building on the left - Jesus Wept gets written on the construction site faster than they can remove it
Barker & Pollock 3rd building on left - for Caleb. Note pedestrian on left has finished pissing against pole now & is waiting for lights
More Karangahape Rd
And more Barker & Pollo k
Closeup of K Rd - funny, I don't remember taking this shot

The freeway system that the Jafas complain about (G5)
One of dozens of private Colleges360 degrees from Mt Eden
Map Ref: G6
NorthNorth East: Rangitoto the island that appeared 600 years ago - behind Devonport's Mt Victoria (J1) & Heads. Barely visible on the left is Little Barrier Island. On the right Waiheke Island with Motuihe Island to the right in front of it. And on the middle right horizon, the Coromandel Peninsula 70 Km away
NE - Waiheke apparently on the horizon - looking across St Heliers to Eastern Beach (I think!)
East: Mt Hobson - another one of Aucklands 47(?) volcanic cones.
South East:
South: One Tree Hill - after an activist chain sawed the tree down
SSW?: The Western end of Manukau harbour (A13) (on the Tasman sea) across the centre just below the horizon
Manukau (B14) now stretching across the whole picture
Manakau harbour widening towards the Tasman (& Obscured by Mt Eden South Cone)
North: Rangitoto again with the rim of the Mt Eden South Cone crater in the foreground
NNW Mt Eden crater (the southernmost of the three cones) - the scoria is so porous that it is dry. In the centre Auckland Waitemata Harbour bridge, to the right Auckland City
NW - the end of Waitemata harbour past Point Chevalier (B3)
Auckland City behind the South Cone
Looking across Ponsonby (E4) to the Bridge & on to the North Shore
