FACTORING SYSTEM

Hardware, Operating Systems & the Environment

Software

The system is written in RMCobol to run on Unix and requires an appropriate RMCobol Runtime program to use the system, and an RMCobol compiler for any additional development or interfacing. The system is running on SCO Unix & NetBSD (the latter unsupported by RMCobol/Liam as yet, I think) on PC type computers. I don't see any significant problems with running on Linux.

Configuration

A single Pentium processor PC with say 128 Meg of RAM & a SCSI disk system will support 4-12 networked workstations in the abovementioned Unix environments - and possibly a lot more workstations depending on performance requirements.
